Haier hOn intergration

Hello,
I’d like to ask do you have any plans to include, at some point, integration of haier equipment to gladys. I noticed there is something like that for Home asssistant (GitHub - Andre0512/hon: Home Assistant integration for Haier hOn: support for Haier/Candy/Hoover home appliances like washing machines and air conditioners in 28 languages.) and wondered if there are any plans like this for Gladys.

Best

Hi! Do you know if these devices are Matter compatible ?

Maybe they could be integrated in Gladys using our Matter integration.

Edit: I’m seeing this online:

I tried to test that. However, in Matter settings I have information that “Matter requires IPv6 to function, but no IPv6 interface was detected on this machine :cross_mark:”. Does it require external provider to assign to me IPv6 or IPv6 in local LAN is enough?
Maybe this is because of my network design. I have gladys on raspberry with zigbee stick. The connection to internet is as follows:
Router -cable-> switch -cable-> raspberry pi
Can this be an issue?
Or maybe because my raspberry dont’ have wireless adapter and is connected through cable? I’m sorry, my knowledge of network design is poor.

Before testing, please ensure that your Haier device provides a Matter pairing code, without it, pairing won’t be possible.

Regarding the IPv6 issue:

Some home routers have IPv6 disabled by default. You’ll need to check your router settings and make sure IPv6 is enabled on the LAN side.

If IPv6 is properly enabled on your router, the next step is to verify that it’s correctly configured on your Raspberry Pi.

General advice:

Are you currently using a Raspberry Pi with a micro-SD card? If so, I strongly recommend switching to a more reliable, long-term setup like a mini-PC with SSD storage.

While the Raspberry Pi is excellent for testing and prototyping, it’s not ideal for running a smart home 24/7 due to potential stability and storage issues.

You mean something like Dell Wyse 3040 Atom? TBH, I’m afraid that I’d have to connect every Zigbee device again to a new machine (and opening all of light switches to press the buttons on controllers to reset connection). The workload is terrifying.

I’ll into configuration of Raspberry Pi and then check for Matter pairing code, probably will take me a few days.

Yes, I personally recommend the Beelink Mini S12 Pro or S13, but any mini-PC with a fast SSD, enough RAM, and a decent CPU will work well.

Good news: you won’t need to re-pair all your Zigbee devices, you can migrate your setup from the Raspberry Pi to the mini-PC smoothly.

Keep in mind that micro-SD cards are notoriously unreliable for long-term use. Their sectors tend to get corrupted over time. Based on years of experience with Gladys, migrating off the Pi with micro-SD is usually a matter of when, not if :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Edit: The Dell Wyse 3040 looks like a fun option, but it’s a bit underpowered for running a reliable smart home system: limited storage, not enough RAM, and an outdated CPU. For a much better experience, I recommend checking out the Beelink Mini S12 Pro !
