I’m happy to announce the release of Gladys Assistant version 4.57!
This update brings several improvements, bug fixes, and new features requested by the community.
New Features
- Gladys update button: It’s now much easier to update your Gladys Assistant installation thanks to a dedicated button in the interface! Until now, Gladys would update automatically within 24 hours, but there was no way to force the update manually from the UI. Now, if you want to trigger an update manually, you can do it directly from the “Settings” view.
- Support for shutters/curtains in HomeKit: Thanks to @bertrandda’s contribution, it’s now possible to control your shutters/curtains from Gladys in HomeKit.
- Volume control for voice announcements: A new option lets you set the output volume when using the “talk on speaker” feature. Super useful to adjust Gladys’ voice depending on the time of day or the room
Thanks @bertrandda for this feature!
Bug Fixes
- Scene bug fix: A bug occurred when deleting an action in a scene that used variables. It caused issues with those variables in the following actions. This is now fixed!
- Dashboard flicker fix: The dashboard could sometimes flicker 2–3 times when returning to a tab that had been open for a long time. This annoying behavior has been resolved
- “Devices in room” widget deprecated: This widget is now deprecated and can no longer be added. Existing widgets will continue to work. We recommend switching to the “Devices” widget, which is more flexible and allows full customization of each row’s name!
Thanks to all contributors and our amazing community for your feedback, testing, and energy!
See you soon for the next release
